Nestled in the beautiful Lys Valley, the Rifugio Alpenzu has been welcoming hikers, families and mountain lovers since 1992.
The building, which has been completely renovated whilst retaining its historic character, offers modern comforts in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Our restaurant
Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in our restaurant, which serves traditional Aosta Valley cuisine, or relax on the covered terrace, opened in 2024, which is ideal for al fresco dining whilst admiring the surrounding mountains.
In 2024, a lightweight canopy was installed over the terrace, providing a space to enjoy meals al fresco.
Ancient Walser village
Alpenzu Grande
Perched at an altitude of 1,779 metres, Alpenzu Grande (known in the Titsch dialect as “Gròsso Albezò”) is one of the most picturesque villages in the Lys Valley, offering spectacular views stretching from Monte Rosa to the Gressoney plain.
This ancient Walser settlement, first documented as early as 1249, still retains its authentic charm today: stone and timber houses, typical stadel, the chapel, the fountain and the communal oven.

Un tempo abitato da famiglie dedite ad agricoltura e allevamento, il villaggio è ancora circondato da pascoli vivi. Oggi queste tradizioni rivivono grazie alla coltivazione di cereali e patate e alla riaccensione del forno in occasione della festa del pane nero.
