The Alpenzu mountain hut is situated above Gressoney-Saint-Jean, in the beautiful Lys Valley, and can only be reached on foot via picturesque scenic trails.

2 km from the village, in the hamlet of Tschemenoal, trail no. 6 begins: it crosses a larch forest and leads to the mountain hut in about 45–60 minutes (elevation gain 400 m).
From Gressoney-La-Trinité
Before the centre, trail 1W starts from the roundabout, winding through woods and pastures, and takes about 2 hours to reach the refuge.
